Anyone running 255/50/17 BFG radials on their '69 on all four corners? Any problems?

If so what was your back space and width of your rims? Is the car lowered or at stock height? What type of rim were you using too?

Thanks

I'm running 17x8 American Racing 200s classics(with gray centers) on my 69. I have 5 inch backspacing on all 4 wheels. For tires I have 235/45/17 for the front and 255/45/17 in the rear. Tires are BFG KDWs. The car has full Hotchkis suspension which lowers the front 2 inches and the rear 1 1/2. I'm also running DSE tubular upper a-arms and Baer 4-wheel disk brakes. I would think 255s in the front would be to big. 245/45/17 is about max for the front.

I think that's too much tire for the front (upper limit in width and too tall - 27"). You can get a 255/40-17 on a 8" wheel with 5.25 backspace on a very low car but the tire usually rubs on the inside against the frame - if you go with 5" of backspace it may rub the fender lip depending on how low the car is. These cars all seem to be a little different and when it gets to the max you need to check very carefully. I would stick to what was suggested above - 245/45-17. Good Luck.

I DID THE 255/45 ZR 17 FRONT, 285/40ZR 17 REAR
BOTH STANDARD BACKSPACING, NO RUBBING YET, BUT I DID USE THE QA 1 COILOVERS ON THE FRONT. YOU CAN SEE THE CAR AT MY SITE, CLICK ON THE BLUE 69.
