I need to know which of these two tire sizes would look the best...a 225/45-17 or 235/45-17 with a 255/45-17 tire on the back. I want that mean "stance' if you know what I mean. Any help is always appreciated. I wouod like to order my tires soon so any help is appreciated. Thanks

The 225 would be 25" diameter & the 235 would be 25.3" diameter. I don't think anyone would notice the difference.

I'd stay with the 225 unless your very confident of your math on figuring backspace

I'm running 235/45/17 for the front and 255/45/17 for the rear on 17X8 wheels. With the Hotchkis suspension I think the stance and tire size is perfect.

9.4 section width and 8.1 on tread width on a 8" rim. Also depends on brand of tire. I was going off tire racks Fuzion tire.

IMO the 235 is the way to go unless you like that wagon wheel look. You won't have any fitment problems on a 7" rim on a '69. Your stance will come from having the front lowered 2" if it's not already.

Uncle C., the 235 is the width. 235 (mm) x 45% of the width = the height. x 2, plus the rim width is the overall tire size.

235 x 45% = 105.75. muliply x 2 (top & bottom of tire) = 211.5. Convert to inches by dividing 25.4 (which is 1" in mm) = 8.32" + 17" rim = 25.32
