Unhappy

I was noticing a clink-clink noise on my way home from school. I get home throw the car on a jack, then I take off the divers side front tire and the whole backside of the rim not the tire is tore up. The rim lip is gone for a 5 inch space across. Do you think the rim is repairable? Is 10 wide too much for the front. The front end is all original, very saggy, creeks real bad when you turn. What do you suggest I do to keep this from hapening agian in the future

and 10" is way to wide for in front. You probably tore it up when it hit some suspension parts when you turned.

To keep this from happening again, do something about the "all original, very saggy, creeks real bad" suspension, then use wheels that will fit the car.

Check out PST Performance Suspension Technologies http://www.p-s-t.com/ They've got an original performance front end kit for about $159. 15x8 is as about as big as you'd want to go with a stock front end. If you want bigger than 8", you might consider a aftermarket frame with a rack & pinion and Vette style upper and lower a arms. It's a $$$ issue. A good set of swap meet 15x8 ralleys can be picked up for about $50.

Thanks nick my rims are currently centerlines but I can not find the design on the centerline website. Could they be knockoffs, they came with the car a month ago

If money is tight, you might be better off staying conservative. A 215 or 225 tire on a 7" rim "always" fits good. As for the front end, look around in the suspensions forum, there's a lotta info, and guy's who'll take you thru the whole thing bolt by bolt. A thorough front suspension rebuild will cost you about $400 if you do it yourself, including shocks, springs and a few special tools.

A neighbor of mine has 4 Ralleys I might pick up 15X8 all around.I like running 10 wide in the back for the superior grip, will it be noticably different with the Ralleys

ran across a set of 15X8 and 15X5 rims for a great price. Will the 15X5 hurt me as a daily driver? I know they will help with weight in the front.
