Question

I've got a few questions about them. I understand they are pleated, like an accordion, and you inflate them with a can. Is this correct? Can you reuse them? Not the can, but the tire? Will they work to get you to the gas station? Is the top speed higher than 7 miles an hour. Would you be comfortable driving in the slow lane with one? I'm wondering because I think it would give more room in the trunk. Thanks . T

I got to ya, ya'ing once with a guy about running all over the country roundy-round racing and he said he put two stock space-saver spares on an old '80's Escort and then he drove them just to see how long they would hold up?? He said about 8,000 miles or so...

I wouldn't do it but if that's all the tires I had, I would sure get back and forth to work CAREFULLY!!

I've had mine inflated (with just air) and when you let the air out it just recollapses back to it's original compressed state so they should be reusable. Never tried to fill it from one of the GM cans of air, but if it's just air I would expect it to do the same thing. I've also never driven on it, but it looks like a 40-50 mph tire.

Thanks guys. It sounds like they serve their purpose of getting you to the tire store while leaving extra trunk room. T
