Tubbed 68 Camaro- Need tire advice

Hey everyone~

I have a tubbed 68' that I'd like to do a different set up on. Right now, the car has 18.5 inch wide Mickey Thompsons on the rear with standard skinny drag radials in the front.

I'd like to go to a narrower tire- maybe a 12-14 inch? I'm going for more of a pro touring look, without the low profile tires- I'd like to keep the old school look of the car and stay away from the Foose style rims.

The reason I'm changing is mainly because I do not like the way the rear tires perform on the highway and how the wash out a bit when the car corners. They also squeal like crazy when I am parking the car so if a different tire size helps with this issue I'm all about it.

I have a 9 inch Ford rear end in the car with adjustable shocks- I'd like to maybe do a different offset so that the tires stick out a bit more rather than being hidden under the fenders. Would this require setting up leaf springs or taller shocks?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I think I'm running the Sportsman Pro- here is a similar tire that has the exact same tread and sidewall. Mine are 18.5 wide

Are they squealing like crazy because your rear is spooled?

I would try a radial and I think you'll be surprised.
Also, as above...does it have a spool ? I know I'll get a few chirps if I turn too tight with mine.
