Re: Nitto's

I have had two sets of Nitto's, they are great performance tires. Just do not expect to get any mileage out of them.

As in each model of tire they make for a given size? From advertised spec's? I don't think I have ever checked(measured) any tires I've used against the advertised spec's. Most tire sizes don't match exactly from brand to brand... Once mounted, tire dimensions will vary depending on width of wheel, amount of air pressure and even weight of the vehicle...

I've got over 30,000 miles on my 555's, no rotations and they still have good tread on them...

Yeah, Nitto's have a great tread pattern.

Re: Nitto's

I think that they do run pretty true to the advertised size. I've got 275/40/17 Nitto 555's on the rear on 9.5 inch rims. I measured from the center of the axle to the floor with the weight of the car loading the tire and the calculated diameter was 25.5 inches, the Nitto site shows 25.55 inches.

Re: Nitto's

555's run a little narrower than competitor's tires. True to their site's numbers, but the competitors like Toyo run a bit wider for the advertised size.

Re: Nitto's

thanks Chris,
That's what I was wondering about. I had heard various comments regarding manufacturer and if there tires were true to the advertised size not whether they were consistent. Nitto was one that was being slammed a little. I don't know if it was bias or reality. you can get into arguments in some quarters when you decide to leave the 15" realm.

The new 555 G2's are a little wider per size than the old 555's.
