235/50/18 on 68 Camaro

I have a 1968 Camaro and am looking for some wheels. I found a set of 235/50/18's from Boss Motorsports with almost new tires. Backspace is thought to be 4.5. My rear end is a 12 bolt from a early 70's Chevelle which measures 1 inch wider than stock.

Anyone know how these will work? I can hopefully get these really cheap ($500 or so). I've searched and cannot find anyone with this specific tire size. Thanks for any help.

All 4 wheels are 18x8.

I think the 50 series tire will be way too tall for your 68 and will end up with front fender issues. Most people running 18" wheels are using 40 series tires up front and 35 or 40 series in the rear.

Re: 235/50/18 on 68 Camaro

I agree, a 50 series on an 18" would be too tall.

With a 235 in front(on a 35 or 40 18"), I'd run at minimum a 245 in back with an 18x8" wheel.

1968 Butternut Coupe,
421" Dart SHP block
TKO 600 RR
Dutchman 9" w/3.70 US Gear Lightning r&p
Speedtech torque arm,Ridetech HQ coilovers
Global West arms
Budnik wheels
