U111 rambler questions

Hello I'm new to this forum and appreciate any help you guys can give me.
I like the U111 wheel and love the price. I have ride tech 2" drop in the front and 2" drop leaf in the back.
Do these wheels fit well? There are forums that suggest a different backspace than the u111s have (I don't remember the numbers right now)
I will also do the ls1 disc brake swap front and rear. Will the rotors push these wheels out too far to fit properly?
I have stock front subframe with ride tech upper control arms. I am buying a custom 9" for the rear so I can adjust the rear location.
I hope that someone has experience with this situation.
Thanks
Bill

Re: U111 rambler questions

Check out the other 69 wheel tire thread running now. The numbers you are forgetting are what makes or breaks your fit.

67RSSS......owned since 69. A basket case for most of it.

Re: U111 rambler questions

Ok a lot of the guys are running 5.5 backspace on a 9.5" wheel ( 275/40/18 tire). The u111s are 5.25. this pushes the tire out farther.
Is anyone running this wheel and how does it fit?
Same story with the front wheel. Is anyone running the 18X8" u111 in the front and how does it fit?
It's a 68 so there is less space than a 69

Check out this video from Motor Trend on youtube:
@14:15 David Freiburger talks about these U111 in 18x9.5 w/ 5.25 in. backspacing and 18x8 w/ 4.50 in. backspacing, and Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 275/40-18s, and 235/40-18s they used on their '67 "Crusher" Camaro.

Re: U111 rambler questions

Yes I saw that but in the video they said they had to raise up the front. He had adjustable front coils. I think it had stock brakes too. On the rear He said he had a spacer and they SHOULD fit a stocker well.

I'm looking for someone that actually has these wheels on their car to tell me how they fit.
Thanks for the input

Dude, that's awesome. I hadn't seen this video, and was wondering about the fitment of these wheels as well.

Relax, all right? My dad's a TV repairman, got an ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Re: U111 rambler questions

I am in the same boat. I am about to make the purchase as you. I have ride tech coil overs and will be ordering the ride tech LCA and drop spindles. I will also have LS brakes from and back. There is a guy on PT with a 71 Camaro that has Rambers with c5 Z06 brakes up front. He DID mention that he had to grind a little of the caliper away to clear the wheel.
