68 SS 396 17" Wheel Help

I have read for days and still am unsure what wheel/tire combo to get from my 68. I want the 17" Rev Classic 100 Anthracite front and back. I want to be able to lower my car at least two inches or more, ultimately to look like this car height wise:
1967 Chevy Camaro

The Rev Classic 100's come in the following sizes:
100S-7806112 Anthracite 17 8 5X120 5X120.65 72.70 12
100S-7906100 Anthracite 17 9 5X120 5X120.65 72.70 0
100S-7906112 Anthracite 17 9 5X120 5X120.65 72.70 12
100S-7706100 Anthracite 17 7 5X120 5X120.65 72.70 0
100S-7806012 Anthracite 17 8 5X120 5X120.65 72.70 -12
100S-7806100 Anthracite 17 8 5X120 5X120.65 72.70 0

And I found these on ebay:
17x7"-17x8" GRAY REV CLASSIC 100 WHEELS & TIRES FOR CHEVY CAMARO 1967 1968 1969

They are 17x7 - (4" Backspace, 1" Lip) with a 215/50R17 in the front
and 17x8 - (4.5" Backspace, 1.5" Lip) with a 245/45R17 in the rear.

I have all stock suspension right now with a front disk brake kit from The Right Stuff.

Can anyone help with what wheels and tire sizes would work best with a lowered car? I am almost to the point of leaving the wheels that are on there now :-)

Re: 68 SS 396 17" Wheel Help

I have Foose Knuckle 17 x 8 all around with 235/45 and 255/45. They have about the same diameter as original and I have no rubbing issues with the 2" lowered on my 69.

Looks like those have 4.5" backspace. Thanks that helps!

Re: 68 SS 396 17" Wheel Help

I found these later and think they may work better for me, but I am unsure on the front.

17x7-17x9" GRAY REV CLASSIC 100 WHEELS CHEVY CAMARO & PONTIAC FIREBIRD 1967 1968 | eBay

Front: (2) 17x7" - (4" Backspace, 1" Lip)
Rear: (2) 17x9" - (5" Backspace, 2.5" Deep Lip)

Should I get 17x7 with a 4" backspace or a 17x8 with a 4.5" backspace for the front?

Re: 68 SS 396 17" Wheel Help

I prefer the same look around. Foose has a wheel that looks like it. I paid $225 per wheel at Discount Wheel in LA. They took 25 off per wheel and included the lugs and locks. They have a wide selection of wheels and good service.

That's what I had. Bought them on Tirerack. Great company. Even comes with new lugs. Tires were mounted and balanced too so I just slapped them on. Plus YOU decide what tires you want, not some Ebay seller trying to make a buck extra by being cheap.

I had 17x7 with 225/45-17 and 17x8 with 255/40-17 on my car and it was about perfect.

Sold:
1968 Base hardtop 250 with a P̶G̶ built 2004r
Offy intake
Holley 390 CFM carb
Langdon split header to a 2.5" exhaust
Mild cam
Custom interior
