Question Extra valve stem hole in brand new custom made wheels????

Just throwing this out there as my wheels finally arrived after being custom made to my specs after 8 weeks. Not going to bad mouth the wheel manufacturer yet until I find out if this is legit or not. They did a pretty trick valve stem that replaces one of the bolts that runs around the inner lip of the wheel..........and then there is another OPEN valve stem hole on the back lip of the wheel that is hidden in the back drop lip of the wheel. I about had a heart attack when I noticed that extra hole that even looked like they had a valve stem mounted in there and then relocated it to where it was supposed to be. When I called, they said all of their wheel outers are pre-drilled for a tire pressure sensor which makes sense I guess but since I paid $5000 for these wheels, I really didn't think I should have to plug a hole with another valve stem. They told me to mount a valve stem backwards or buy a flush mount valve stem to put in there. Does this sound right to you guys that buy these custom wheels? Just want to be sure before I mount them - just not settling well with me. Thanks

Yes that is normal in 3 piece wheels. Simply install a valve stem backwards or flush mount stem.

The wheel company it telling you the truth

Probably not since they don't know the application customer is going for future install.

I don't know; that might set them back as much as $1.125 each for a valve stem when purchased a 100 at time.

LOT 100 TR 413 Snap-In Tire Valve Stems Short Black Rubber MOST POPULAR VALVE

Probably eat into their profit margin on a $5K wheel set when you figure he is going to need four of them.

After the phone call of the WTF on my part, he did offer to send flush mount valve stems out to me. Only problem is that he is on the other side of the country and who wants to wait a week to install their shiny new wheels lol. I gladly ate the $18.99 I just wish that it was brought up in conversation on his end and offered to me when ordering instead of after the fact. It's not like he didn't know it was going on a '68 Camaro. Neither here nor there, they are mounted and look Effin awesome. Thanks guys for your support Ill post em up on my thread

I would think for custom ordering $5K in brand new custom rims, that it would part of the ordering process. Are you going to use TPMS ever? No? OK! Thank you for placing your order!

I'm glad you like them though!
