275/35/18

the website says no issue but i would just like some human feedback from people i trust before i drop the hammer

Re: will these fit ?

Your link only shows an 8" wide wheel fitting. No 9.5". My opinion those will not fit without cutting wheel wells. I tried it again and it does show 9.5 wide. I'm not sure. maybe someone will chime in with what wheels they have. Mine are stock.
Good luck.

i chose staggered width
18x8 in front
18x9.5 in the rear

all options show width and backspacing. im going to measure clearances as soon as the temp outside gets above 10 degrees lol

How do you like your 5-speed? I just ordered mine to replace my M-22.

Re: will these fit ?

Its going to most likey rub even with trimmed wheel lips. Im running 10's wide with 275's...5.75" bs. Very tight . You could have the mount surface flat milled 1/4" to help get the fit proper. 5.5" is the norm for a 9.5"/275 combo.

Re: will these fit ?

You will regret it imho. A lot of rubbing and/or trimming...

Re: will these fit ?

Typically... the largest recommended size for a '69 with "stock" suspension is a 275/40-17 (or 18) on a 9.5" wide rear wheel with 5.5" backspace. Thats what I'm running, no rubbing while driving except when I make a turn into my pretty steep driveway and the rear tire on the inside rubs the 3" exhaust for a split second. I had the rear exhaust tubes modified to clear the 255-60-15's on 8" wheels but the new wheels obviously bring the tire bulge a little closer. Will probably have to re-do the tubes in the Spring. What makes mine a PITA is the 3" polished tips... getting them not to hit at the bend. It is very tight back there.

If you're running 2-1/4" or maybe even 2-1/2" tailpipes you might get away with it without rubbing. My car sits pretty low, so that also factors in to it. If your car is mini-tubbed... you might be OK with wider wheels and more backspace.

Re: will these fit ?

Was looking at the website with the 650B's. They list the backspace at 5.25" for the 18x9.5's. Even a little less room. I would pass. Curious are your wheel well lips trimmed/rolled?

Here is my current Pro Touring set up.

Not really. It is the wheel lips and tubs.

Wheel lips i can take care of. Shell is still in bodywork stage. I ordered a rim off of amazon. So if it dont fit there wont be any hassle in returning it

Re: will these fit ?

i mounted the wheel and took lots of measuring and comparisons to the wheel i took off.
it really looks like it will fit and the only trimming will be to the lip i took into account the tire face will stick out 1/8
' from the wheel lip.

i will do more thorough measurements tomorrow.
