14" rims

Hi Everyone,
I converted the drum brakes on my 67 which required a move to 15" wheels. I have the five factory original 14" wheels. Is there any value for these in the restoration or collectors market or should I just sell them to anyone? I am not as concerned about the $, I just don't want to sell them to anyone if they are important in the Camaro family. I am the second owner of this car, my grandfather was the original.

There are numbers and letters stamped in the area of the valve stem hole. Post them or a picture of that area and someone will be better able to tell you. Matched sets are most always in demand, if the shipping cost isn't a huge factor.

The only reason someone would want insurance is if they want to pay someone elses bills or want someone else to pay their bills.

I'm thinking of people that build Yenko clones. Aren't those 14" plain steel wheels?

The stamped letter code makes all the difference. No codes = no money.

Re: 14" rims

It looks like the manufacturer letter and number on the rims, next to the hole for the air valve, are J and 2.

I don't know what this means, but these are the original rims off of my grandfather's 1967 Camaro...which I can no longer use.

Re: 14" rims

Do yourself a favor and use some paint stripper to get down to bare metal in the area of the valve stem. Don't use sandpaper! I blew the picture up huge and can't make out either the J or the 2 . We will still be here when you get a clearer picture of the stamping.
