14" Rallys

Need pics of your rally wheels with BFG Radial TAs on them. I want wider tires on the front, but not sure if I should go with 205 or 215s. Here is my current situation: 195/70R14 garbage rollers.

Re: 14" Rallys

Whatever you do make sure you donít end up with a taller tire up front than the rear.

Re: 14" Rallys

Go with the 215s. I have 215/70R14BFG's on my 14x6 rallys. They fit and ride really nice!

Re: 14" Rallys

I wanted a little wider tire myself, and since BF Goodrich doesn't make a "/65" rating.... I've opted for 225/60R14's on 6" rally wheels up front(24.6" tall tire), and 235/60R14's on 7" rally wheels on back(25.1" tall tire). A little shorter tire than the original, but has a nice look. Excellent fit, great ride, and are a wider tire.

I have ZERO rubbing at all, at any angle, at any turning radii.
You can see pictures in my "Garage".

As mentioned above, watch the tire height comparison from front tires to back tires.
Here's a great link to do some tire comparisons: https://tiresize.com/comparison/

235 60 14 BFG Radial TA's on stock Rally Wheels with Hotchkis 1" lowering springs on my 68.
No issues with rubbing or binding.

What width rim are those 235's mounted on?

Re: 14" Rallys

I'm not sure of the width. They are the stock 14" rally's that came with a 68 SS with disk brakes.

Re: 14" Rallys

215/70 all the way around, replaced with 225/70 on stock 14x7 Rallys. Rubs a bit and looks too big for my taste on this all original 55k 69 RSSS.

Re: 14" Rallys

Just wanted to follow up on this thread since I finally pulled the trigger... I went with 215/60R14 on the front. Rears are 245/60R14. I like the stance, but I wish I'd gone with 225s wider on the front. Front wheels are 14x6, not sure about the rear width.

I can't seem to attach pics or embed image links from imgur on this post?

At the right upper corner of the pic, hover over the drop down menu and click on "Get share links", then choose BBC code (forums).

Looks good !

Re: 14" Rallys

I don't get why copying the link from imgur with the BBC tags works, but using the Insert Image function here and pasting the link in the dialog box didn't.

Re: 14" Rallys

Bite the bullet and buy the bigger tires for the front and swap them out. Sell the others on craigslist, or wherever, for whatever someone will give you for them. You won't be happy until you do. Been there. You'll look at them every time you go outside and shake your head otherwise.

How wide are the rear rims with the 245's on them?
