Beauty ring tire gap

Hey guys, I just put new tires on my 15X7 rally wheels and there is a noticeable quarter inch gap between the beauty ring and tire. I downsized from a 245/60r15 to a 235/60r15 tire (I thought the 245s looked a little big in the front). With the 245s the beauty ring was flush to the tire with no gap. I expressed my concerns prior to leaving discount tire and they stated that the rubber should expand slightly and it shouldn’t be as noticeable, but if I was not happy I can go back to the 245s and just pay the difference within the next two weeks. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Beauty ring tire gap

Mine looks the same with the same size tires. Always thought that is the way it was supposed to be allowing for tire flex.

Re: Beauty ring tire gap

I've also experience the gap being too tight and with the original trim rings with the 4 clips, the trim rings can sqeek from the tire pushing ever so slightly outward on the trim rings lip.

Yea, mine squeake a little. I have 235-60-15 as well. Not a big deal once I figured where the squeak came from.
