69 spare tire mounting
So today I went to mount my spare. I put my jack in the location according to the AIM and the tire would not fit. My wheel is a standard 15X7 Ralley wheel with a slightly smaller 215/65R15. The problem was I installed 6X9 speakers in the car. They might be a little larger than stock so the hold down screw was way too short. I got out the trusty cut off saw, and welder. With the help of a doner hold down screw, I took 2 and made one. Don't get me wrong ... It looks goofy, but works like a champ. It took 5 minutes to do, and I guess is the best I can get without changing my speakers. By the way, the trunk spatter is Guru colors. No clear needed, and one can will do about 4 cars. Hope this helps others. The last picture is of anouther members original set up.
