1968 Camaro Rally Wheels

Hi Camaro Experts:

Iím looking at getting some 14x6 Rally wheels for my base model standard 1968 Camaro. I know the rims should be argent silver and am looking at purchasing Derby-style center caps with ďChevrolet Motor DivisionĒ stamped in the center and the trim ring. Iím striving for originality. Does anyone know whether the center caps and trim rings should be chrome or stainless steel? Also, should the trim ring have full rim style mounting clips or the style that uses 4 clips to retain the trim ring to the edge of the rim (GM #3923522). Finally, any recommendations on a retailer for the rims, center caps, and trim rings? Many thanks. Tommy68

Re: 1968 Camaro Rally Wheels

Center caps are actually 2 piece. The "ornament" is chromed diecast. The dish is flash chromed stainless steel. Trim rings are flash chrome SS as well. Flash chrome has a bluish hue to it. I'm pretty sure they had 4 clips as you describe as I believe that was changed sometime in 69 ?

NOS stuff is still available. Here's an example from HBC...https://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/...rt%23-3923522/

Check ebay as well...

Here's a thread at CRG on trim ring numbers. Originals are unbelievably high $$.
