4.5x15" wheels

Wondering if anyone is running a 4.5x15" wheel with tire on the street. I have 2 front wheels that are rockets launchers, 4.5" wide. All the tires I see that will fit these wheels are for drag use only and not the street. Prefer a tire with raised white lettering. Anyone running something like this on the street?

I'm not personally, but believe it or not, T/A's are available in that size. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BF-Goodrich...e/401814110383

Saved on my watch list as I was considering them for the front of my VW Baja.

Re: 4.5x15" wheels

There you are Garth, taking care of me again. LOL That's what I'm looking for right there. No where on the summit racing web page could I find those. I'll be grabbing these units tonight. LOL
I got these launchers from the sparks summit store as demo's. They range in price from $245-$215 each. I grabbed these for $160 for both. $80 a piece. Couldn't resist. Thinking of the 55 gasser project when I saw them. But I might just bolt them on the 67 427 car just to change up the look now and then. I'll probably run a slot mag or american 5 spoke as the extra rear. As you can see here, I've got a cooper on the front that's new, the 295-50's on the back are 22 years old. I'll buy 2 new 295 coopers to match the front.
And then another set, 295's on 8.5" americans with the 4.5" launchers.
And I pulled the chrome caps off these and I think it looks better without them. LOL

Doug, your car looks good with those. I noticed some tires said 5" minimum on width. That kinda narrowed the field a lot.

Done. Summit did have them. Couldn't find them yesterday. New valve stems and lug nuts too. Now all I have to do is hide the purchase from you know who. LOL

Sorry I wasn't more successful getting ahold of the ebay L35 seller....apparently he's not interested in dealing outside of ebay.

Luv the look of that 67, especially the rear meats !

Re: 4.5x15" wheels

Yeah, the fleebay guy. LOL Oh well, I've actually got 5 396 motors at the shop to choose from. One is a 67 block, but it's out of a caprice.
That's why the wife doesn't understand why I need another motor. She doesn't care about the date correct or suffix code stuff. LOL
Yeah, I like the street bruiser 70's look too.

Re: 4.5x15" wheels

I'd go with the Caprice block. Period Correct... good enough for the girls I go with !

Here's the tire size chart with dimensions just to make sure that tire is what you're lookin for...https://tiresize.com/tires/BFGoodrich/Radial-TA.htm
