Lug nut question

Does anyone know if the lug nuts for 2000 SS 10 spoke alloys would be the same as the ones for a 2002 C5 Vette? Picked up a set of alloys for my 95 Zvert off ebay to replace the Dayton Wires that came with the car so I need lugs for them. Local chevy dealer sed they were different part numbers and wants $7 each for the inners and $5 for the outers. Ecklers has C5's for $2 but Eckler Camaro doesn't have a part for the 2000 SS. Need a little help un-pimpin my ride.

Re: Lug nut question

I would think as long as they are the same thread and have the same taper, they should work

The difference in price is probably for the style as Corvette has one style (look) and Camaro SS has another style (look).

Buy one lug nut and check the fit. Use a magic marker on the taper of the lug nut and see how the fit of the nut taper is to the wheel taper. Full contact and good thread engagement, go for it. Use lacquer thinner to remove the magic marker.

There is a good selection of lug nuts at the local parts store. Tire stores would have a good selection, also.

Thumbs up Re: Lug nut question

Thanx for the offer. I picked up some black Gorilla lugs locally. They worked just fine and were ~$40 out the door. Chose black because eventually I want to do the same treatment on the 10 spokes as the 35th anniversary wheels, polish the faces and powder the rest black. Think that would be a good look for a black on black 95 vert. As usual good info quick on the board.

Drive on..

Re: Lug nut question

One little tech issue I would like to pass along for anyone thinking of doing this wheel combo, 2000 SS 10 spokes on a 95. Had to remove the casting ridge on the center hole before the rears would go all the way over the axle ends. Took about 5 min with a die grinder but wouldn't take much longer with a rat tail file. Fronts were no problem.
