AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

I just went to the car show in Moultrie Ga. looking for some camaro's with unique rims to get an idea for my car. I swear 90% of the camaro's had torque thrusts on them and the others had rally's. Now dont get me wrong those rims do look good but if I had them on my car I would be gettin rid of them fast just because almost EVERYONE has those rims. I was very dissapointed when I left because I wanted to see other rims in person rather than pics on the net. Just blowing off some steam, hope I didnt offend anyone with TTII's.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

I have been looking for rims to put on my son's 67 SS 350 for over a year...gt to replace those rally rims...we can't agree what looks good. We are starting to lean towards a set of Bonspeed rims but still questionable...I would be satisfied with a set of 17" Crager SS rims but my 16 year old wants something newer looking.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

Well I just bought a set of TTII's for the '69. They'll be replacing guess what....the Rally's. I looked around and didn't see anything else I liked as well. I suppose I just have boring taste. Not offended though.

You didn't offend me, I have Weld Prostars on mine. Maybe it's just a Moultrie Ga. thing because I haven't seen but maybe one or two around me with the torque thrusts. I personally like them, but can also understand that you'd like to be different too. To each his own I suppose. Maybe you can surf the net for some camaros with unique rims, but it's always better to see them in person. Hang in there and you'll find some.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

I just sold my rallys for some TTIIs also. I did see a bunch at Moultrie, but that just confirmed how much I like them. If there were 50 first gens in my town and 1/2 had TTIIs, I might be apt to change. However, I am lucky to see 1 a month.

Moultrie was incredible.

I agree with your son, I also want something newer and more ''up to date'' if you know what I mean. I'm probably going with Budnik or Billet Specialties for those of you wondering.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

I like my TTII's... its a good looking classic wheel that comes in bigger sizes than 15".

I first saw a set on a orange 68 in Car Craft a few years back, and knew i had to have them. They are fairly popular i have to admit.

You can always shell out $1200 a wheel for some budniks that no one has

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

I had some 16 inch TTII's on mine but grew tired of seeing every camaro out there with them. I just put on a set of 17 inch Billet Specialties "Street Stars" and love them. Some pictures can be seen on the link below

Just checked out your pictures and those rims do look GREAT!!! Nice setup. Did you have any clearance issues? Just curious since your rears are 17x9.5.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

I have been looking for pics of other first gens with rims besides Cragar SS, rally's, and TTII's. ALthough I love all of the mentioned wheels, I want something different. If anyone has any pics, please post them.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

Ryan if you look at my sig. there are some pictures of the Billet specialty wheels I just put on.

1FASTZ, I don't have any rubbing issues. I have 1 inch clearance from inner wheel well to tire and 5/8th inch clearance from wheel to fender lip. I do have original chambered exhaust on and the passanger side exhaust pipe is pretty close to the tire but still not rubbing.

Re: AAAHHHH!!!! NO MORE TORQUE THRUST II's

Yeah, I saw the Budniks at SEMA...nice stuff. I keep trying to figure out a way to use some Halibrand salt flats or kidney beans on a first gen car. I like the TTII's, but agree they are almost too popular. I also like the stuff that mimics the 60's but in a modern version. Wheels are hard, they are so personal-and in my opinion truly set the tone for the entire statement of the car-
