Decode a 1969 space saver and canister

I have a oct 68 1969 camaro and i am trying to find a date coded space saver spare tire..i know it is a 14 x what??? also has 2 stems...but i know nothing about how to date code and what other codes i am looking for...like UA or YA etc..i have hear about a date of j 2 8 on a 14 inch space save turned out to be a 78 not 68 so i need help how to tell the right one...there has to be more codes or somthing....Also the canister...what does it look like part # and date>???? does it have one?

Did you do a search on this site? Seems to me like this data has come up before around here somewhere. Or at least I think I remember someone chiming in with knowledge of it that you might be able to ask directly.
