Hard time deciding... Want a Dragster type look...

Hi guys...

I want my '68 camaro to have a Dragster look but I can't decide on my wheels...

I want to put the Hooiser QTP's 28x11.5x15 on the rear and some skinnies in the front...

So far I'm looking at the Weld Racing Prostars and the Wheel Vintiques Rallyes... Both in the 15x8 size with 4.5" backspacing for the rear ...

I love the old school looks of the rallyes but have heard of issues with vintiques not balancing properly...

I also love the look of the prostars and they would be ligher than the steel vintiques...

Are there any other wheels out there that will give that dragster appearance and which of the two wheels mentioned above would you choose?

thanks,
TIM

I still love the old-school Centerlines,..if you're going old school go to ebay,..pretty good deals on the not-so-hot-anymore wheels.

Good luck!

Re: Hard time deciding... Want a Dragster type look...

I've got 15X4 Weld Drag-lites on the front of my '67, and 15X8 Drag-Lites on the rear. I too like the look, I'm a little nervous at how they are going to drive-but I haven't had any problems yet. I keep thinking I want to put the stockk Rally's back on the car-just never have.

It's definately the look I would have wanted in High School-

Oh yeah-my friends call it "The Window Punisher" because it has Flowmasters that exit in front of the rear axle...which adds old school noise to the party.

I'm a big fan of the Pro Stars. I'm not too crazy about the rally's on a drag car. The Weld Drag Lites are also good. (Again not my taste.) Watch ebay there's always Drag-Lites and Pro Stars on there for a good price.

Re: Hard time deciding... Want a Dragster type look...

Tim,
As soon as I can get a camera I will take a couple of pics and post them for you. I currently have 15X8 Vette Ralley's on the rear with Derby center caps and 15X5 Ralley's on the front. I cut 7/8 of an inch off the Derby part of the front center caps so that they wouldn't stick out that far. I just recently found trim rings for the front that match the Vette rears.

I like my prostars over the ralleys, the rodlites don't look bad either IMO.

I'll swap you my narrowed Dana 60 48" with Moser spool and MOser axles for a standard 12 bolt axle. $700+ in my rear end.
