Newstalgia Wheel - Good Experience

I just wanted to provide positive feedback on my recent good experience with Howard @ Newstalgia Wheel. I ordered a $3K billet specialties wheel & Nitto tire package about 5 months ago. I received them in only 3 weeks, which was a suprise. However I experienced a vibration and visible movement of the left front fender above 65 mph. I took the tires to a local dealer to have the fronts load tested and checked for balance. The results indicated a 0.20" runout on the left front wheel but within spec. The tire appeared to have one low spot on the OD when rotated on the balance machine. I contacted Howard and arranged to send the wheel/tire back after winter time arrived. I sent it off 4 weeks ago and they had the wheel checked out, put on a new tire and I got it back last week. It has no vibration now, so I am pretty pleased with the way it was handled.

Re: Newstalgia Wheel - Good Experience

It's always good to hear happy ending stories when it comes to major purchases when a problem developes. Many people have praised this company for the purchase experience even on other sites but it's comforting to hear how they handled your problem and they even did it at your convience.

It would have been even better if they would have found the problem before they shipped them. I just ordered Foose rims and nitto tires for my car, if there is something wrong with them when they get here i'm gonna be pi$$d.

Re: Newstalgia Wheel - Good Experience

That is good to know...I am in the process of looking for a wheel package and was looking at their site today. I bought a set of Cragars from a neighbour for $100 and found out today that the mounting holes are rounded out and there is no way to save these. I guess you get what you pay for. I thought maybe someone made a spacer that can be put in to the hole, maybe bored out and a spacer put in but I havent been able to find anything like that. Kind of a bummer after putting so much into this car and wasnt planning on the extra expense...now I am trying to find out if I want the Cragar or the Torque Thrust II's...not sure which is better quality or which way to go...they are about the same in cost.

Re: Newstalgia Wheel - Good Experience

I too would like to back up the praise of Newstalgia Wheel. Howard was great to work with. I bought a wheel and tire package and was told it would be 3-5 weeks for delivery. Well I had them on my door in 9 days. Again EXCELLENT company to work with.

Thumbs up Re: Newstalgia Wheel - Good Experience

I've talked to and dealt with Howard on several occassions. I purchased a set of Boyd's through Howard at Newstalgia ... I recieved them in no time.

I too agree, Newstalgia wheel is an excellant place to do business, I recommend it to anyone.
