Cheap 16-inch Wheels

Any ideas on a low budget (but not too ugly) option to get 16-inch wheels for my 67. I just ordered disc brakes and want to upgrade to an overdrive rather than buy high dollar wheels and tires right now.

How about steel wheels with hub caps or late model camaros with 16-inch wheels? If you are familiar with the late model Camaros does anyone know the offset they came with?

Thanks

Re: Cheap 16-inch Wheels

Try the 16 inch wheel off the 3rd gen cars (82-92). The ones of the 92 25th anniversary RS V-8 car look pretty good. You should be able to find them pretty reasonable. They are marked front and rear since they have different back spacing. The trick to putting them on an older Camaro is to put the rear wheels on the front of your car and the front wheels on the back. This works pretty good. Another wheel to look at that you should be able to pick up reasonably is the Pontiac Trans Am GTA wheels. They look kinda like wire spoked wheels but different. The centers are painted and you can paint them any color you want to match your car. I see these wheels quite often on Ebay. These 3rd gen wheels fit a little better than the 4th gen wheels do, but the 4th gen wheels can be made to work as well.

The 3rd gen wheel do work, and are pretty reasonable to find at salvage yards. If you want new take a look at. http://www.americanracing.com/wheels...lloy&section=V I've been looking for new wheels for mi car, and found these at Farm & Fleet for $120-$140 for 17x7-17x8. Yes there was a time that everyone ran slots, but other than my car right now I don't see them very often.
