Need Info Fast, Please Help!!

I can only get the rims I want in these sizes:
front: 18x8.5 /4.5bs
rear:18x10 /5.25bs
Tires they recommend are:
front:245/40
rear:285/35
Please give any info you know because i am probably gonna order tomorrow 1-10-06. My car is a 69. Rims are Foose Thrustar, supposed to be discontinued but I found someone that has them.

wheel tire clearance will vary car to car-but while the fronts are in the ballpark I very much doubt you can get away with that much back space on the rears
unless you modify the car!

Re: Need Info Fast, Please Help!!

I told the guy that I rolled the fender and he said he guarantee's that they will fit. I am going to order them anyway and if they dont fit, I'll send them back. I am also gonna ask about getting a 295 rear instead of a 285.

Thumbs down Re: Need Info Fast, Please Help!!

Doesn't matter how good the price is if they don't fit what good is it? Do a search 10 wide in the back is iffy to start with and if they do fit it's with 5.5 or 5.75 back space. If the tire is being cut by the fender doesn't matter if it's getting gouged a 1/2" or 3/4". I would love to see you get the 295s in there. There are guys on this forum that have dropped down from 275s on 9.5s with 5.5" of back space to 255s because the rubbing was severe. In the front it's 4.75" or 5" depending on the disc brake set up and sometimes even then the outter fender bolts are swapped out to button heads. Now we get back to all the variables like - each car is different - ride height - brakes - stock width rear - ect. OK I'll stop now - I just think you're going against what everybody else is doing and you are going to be too far towards the outter fender lips in both the front and the rear which is going to get the tires cut up from the sharp edges. Good luck if you decide to try it anyway. Just remember most venders will not let you return wheels once tires are mounted on them.

Re: Need Info Fast, Please Help!!

The reason that I want them is not because they are a good deal ($750ea). I told him that I wanted 9.5'' on rear with 5.5bs and he said he can only get them in 10''. I'll ask him about the return policy. Thanks for the reply, keep them coming...........Patrick
