Please help pick wheels

I recently purchased a 67 camaro. I want to put a nice set of wheels on it. I like the torque thrusts but it seems very common and wanted something different. In looking at pictures online I came accross a few that I like (Foose and Billet Specialties.) Now, here is my question. The Camaro is not tubbed. I was told that I can fit a 17x8 on the front and a 17x9 on the rear without rubbing. Does anyone know if this is correct? Then my next problem. How come the wheels I like seem to jump from size 8 to size 9.5?

Traditional wheels with the stepped lip run from 17x7 - 17x8 - 17x9.5.
Flat lipped wheels - smooth outter hoop run 17x7 - 17x8 -17x9 - 17x10. That's something you would have to take up with the wheel companys. If the wheels you like are not available in 17x9 they are most likely stepped lips.
The sizes of choise are 17x8 with 4.75" of backspace in the front with a 235 or 245/45-17 tire and a 17x9.5 with a 5.5" backspace with a 255/45 or 275/40-17 tire in the rear. Do a search - this has been discussed over and over again.

I've always been partial to Cragars, why get a TT2 when you can have the original?

Re: Please help pick wheels

I would recommend 17 x 7's up front w/ 4.5" bs and 17 x 8"s out back w/ 4.75" bs. If your car is stock, these should fit without rubbing. Anything bigger and you will risk rubbing.

My front is lowered 2", so I'd recommend 7"'s up front w/ 4.5" of bs, unless you want to modify rhe inner wells.

If you do look @ the foose or billet spec. I would recommend paying the money to get something in chrome. I have the polished billet, Billet spec. and it seems after a year or so of driving and grime they loose their luster quick. My sizes are 17x7 4.5 b.s. 235/45 and 17x 8.5 5 b.s. 275/40 and I've never had a problem.
