Question Help with Stock Tires

I have read several posts on the stock 1967 tires. The correct size are the skinny 7.35 x 14's or D70-14 either white stripe or redlines. Raised white letters came out later. What about black walls? Did they just turn the white stripes around. I have a Nantucket Blue RS with a black vinyl top, brite blue interior. I am looking for correct tires with some 14x5 rally's for shows and to introduce red into the color scheme might look funny. White stripes have an appearance of a much older persons car. Not to offend anyone. Thoughts?

Re: Help with Stock Tires

I think you may have an easier time finding 14x6 rally's as opposed to 14x5's. I used to run P245/60 R14's on the front of my first 1969 Camaro. Most guys will tell you to run P235/60/R14.

I personally don't like white walls on any Camaro especially first gen. The thin red line tires do look cool. I had RWL (raised white letters). The 1969 Camaro I bought a few weeks ago has blackwall tires. It's a matter of preference. Good Luck!! Sounds like you have a nice car.

Thanks for the help...I already have the 14x5's JJ with DA stamps. Just throwing the subject out there for opinions. Weave
