Red face rim hole correction???

I just got a real good deal on a pr of centerlines, however they have 4 holes on both sides of the lip where they screwed in for slicks. I want to run radials back on them, so does anybody have an easy cure. My though was to run self taping sheetmetal screws with some clear caulk. Any suggestions would be great, Thanks!

Re: rim hole correction???

The beads seal the holes so it is just a cosmetic thing to fill them up.

I would use short screws that fit, but don't go all the way through and calk like you mentioned to glue them in place and go.

I would tap them out to the closest size to the existing hole then insert $$-Button-Socket-head-Cap-screws* into them to plug the holes.
Never know when that "clear caulk" would fail on you at speed and start throwing little sheet-metal screws all over the place
If it goes on a rotating part it's always best to bolt - not glue ...

note: * = these are small headed, allen drive stainless steel type bolts that look pretty nice when polished
Any good hardware or bolt supply house will have them.
