Re: need to know rim size on 69' camaro 327
Thanks for the response. Not only will they be happy with the same size all around but this allows you to rotate the tires and check for irregular wear in certain areas of teh vehicle and or tires. To the others here I am speaking of 15" white letter tires which are not unidirectional like 16's, 17's 18's 19's etc.
Steptoe, I feel that 15's look & handle better than 14's. I know I had 14's. I would recommend P235/60/R15 all the way around. I have them on my 1969 and they do not rub. P 215/65/R15 will also work as that's what the 1982-1987 Z28's had. I'm talking regular Z's not IROC's. Even P 225/70/R15 should work as that's what a 1978-1981 Z28 came with so did the Pontiac Trans Am and even police cars through the early to mid 1990's.
Bottom Line: A 1969 Camaro is not an IROC-Z or a Z06 Corvette. I had two 3rd gen Camaro's including a Z28 and a 5.7L IROC-Z. They would run circles around my 1969 as far as handling. Unless your customer is spending big bucks on a pro-touring hi end suspension & handling to make the car handle like it's on rails, then the unnecessary expense of 16's, 17's 18's is not worth while.
Just my 2 cents.
To all of you: Good Luck with your cars. Hopefully Santa will bring us all some much needed items for our Camaro's.
