68 camaro factory disc brakes

Do I need a spacer on the front to clear the big caliper. Or is there a special offset I need. Thanks for your time.

Re: 68 camaro factory disc brakes

IIRC, the '67/'68 used the 4-piston, JL-8 type jobbers that have a different caliper mount than the '69 and later, big single piston calipers. The '69 is bent similar to an "S".. whereas, I think the earlier one is straight or flat..

I forget if the 4-piston spindles will mount the '69 and newer bracket stock or not??

David, jump right in here....

Re: 68 camaro factory disc brakes

Paul,
I think he is asking about the rims because disk brake setups require rims that are for cars with disk brakes. I believe he needs some 4.5 backspace rallye wheels or stock gm rims from a disk brake car, again with the correct backspacing.

Re: 68 camaro factory disc brakes

XG rallys are correct for 68 with disc brakes. DG for 67's with disc, or you can use any other disc rally wheel.
