Survey: 67 SS Stance?

Let me know what you think of the stance on my 67 SS.

I am going to be throwing on some drag radials on different wheels in the spring. But, I am also keeping the rallys, albeit with a new set of tires.

Just looking for everyones thought on the stance of car with these tire size combos, before I buy some new rubber. Thanks guys !

Looks pretty good as she sits! You may want to list the rim & tire sizes. It may be a limiting factor on whether you can lower.

Where in Illinois are you located? I am near Peoria, IL.

Re: Survey: 67 SS Stance?

I am not a big fan of large diameter tires in the back. It took me a long time to find a tire I liked the look of (diameter wise) on the back of my '55.

I'm also not a fan of really big tires in the back.

FWIW, I prefer the Trans Am-beefy tires on all four corners look.

Re: Survey: 67 SS Stance?

I am!!

I dearly loved my E-60 and L-60 look.. (Old L's measue a modern 298/53-14 on a 9" wide rim!!)..

They are now up on the shelf b/c I went modern with 225 and 255/45-17's to clear my "pdqCBB" conversion!!

Re: Survey: 67 SS Stance?

It's not what we like it's what you like. That's a lot of sidewall and height in that rear tire. Looks like it's getting crowded around the edges. I would go for less sidewall and unless you went with a larger diameter wheel the gap between the fender lip and the top of the tire is going to get bigger. See where this is going if you are going to start changing things. One thing leads to another and so on ......you know the drill.

Do you have a straight-on side shot? The photo perspective may be distoring the stance some...and I'm distracted by the fact that you live in a castle...

Re: Survey: 67 SS Stance?

I have to agree that the photo angle makes the rear tires appear larger than they really are. The fronts look like 14's, but know after talking to you, that they are 15's. I don't think there is anything wrong with the rears looking beefier. Muscle cars should have a slight rake. Guy's are putting 17" and 18' wheels on first generation cars and wonder why they have so much distance between the upper wheelwell lip and the tire surface. Consequently, there is less rubber to fill the void.

I like the way your car sets big tires on the back small tires on the front. Thats the way i have my 69 camaro.
