Tire recommendation for TTO's

I just purchased a set of 4 American Racing TT originals from Jon at driverzinc, he gave me a deal that i couldn't refuse. They are 17X8's and now i am looking for some tire recommendations. I have considered BF Goodrich 235/45/17's for the front and 255/45/17 for the rear. Anyone else had good experience with something different?

Re: Tire recommendation for TTO's

What did you end up deciding on? How do your wheels fit, and what is the backspacing, particularly in the front? I just posted with a question about 17X8s for my 68 vert, and I'm really eager to figure out the max tire size I can safely put on there.

68 vert, 350 ZZ4 "fastburn" w/Thorley headers and Flowmaster, Moser 12 bolt, Richmond 6spd, Hotchkis suspension.

Re: Tire recommendation for TTO's

Just got back from business travel and other than receiving the rims, haven't done much. I will probably put the rims on to see how they fit first and then purchase some tires. I am looking at 235/45/17 for the front and 255/45/17 for the rear. All 4 rims are 17X8.

Re: Tire recommendation for TTO's

This weekend I finally mounted two 255/45/17's on my TTO's. I put one on the front to see if i would have a clearance problem and the other on the back. I originally planned to put 235's on the front, which I may still do but thought if I put 255's all the way around I could rotate them if needed.

Re: Tire recommendation for TTO's

I like the 255 on the rear, with a 235 front. Wheels look great, send me a full picture of your car, and I'll get it up on my website! Glad you guys like your wheels.
