16s on a 67

Anybody running 16s on a 67.I took my wheels and tires off of my S10 to see how they would look. They didn't fit, they hit where the brake hose is attached to the frame.235x55x16 stock suspension drum brakes. What size do I need to go on16" wheel?

Re: 16s on a 67

I have 16's on the front of my drum brake 68, with 225/50 tires, and they clear just fine.
My best gues is that the offset of your S10 wheels is wrong for the camaro, putting the tires too far "inside the wheelwell."

Re: 16s on a 67

The title photo on my website has 16" x 8" x 4.5"bs Vintage Wheelworks V45 with 255/245-50-16's.

16's are fine if you are not wanting to go too big (more than 255) and/or wanting a Z-rated tire. They are hard to come by.

Re: 16s on a 67

I came up with the 3 7/8" backspace (on a 7" rim) becasue that's what was available in those wheels, standard offset for cragar for some strange reason.

Re: 16s on a 67

Thanks for the compliments. I too like the picture, even though it's dated

Pictures farther down on the website show the 17's.

Re: 16s on a 67

OK I found the box my wheels came in(Never throw anything away) They are AR style 136 16x8 with- o-offset If I read the chart right that gives me a 4.5' backspace.--Carl what do you think? Funny, I never thought this would be a problem!

Re: 16s on a 67

I'd think zero offset would be 4"??
