Pace car wheel sizes

What size rims where used on the Z11 and Z10. I was told the 15" are used only on the Z28 is this true?

Re: Pace car wheel sizes

The rule of thumb was all Z/28s got 15" everything else was 14" with an exception or two. I believe copos may have gotten 15" and the actual pace cars that went around the track were retrofit with 15" wheels when they were race prep'd.

Re: Pace car wheel sizes

Because they were SS's they got 14" by 7" YJ rally wheels. The 2 "real" pace cars had 15" by 7" YH wheels added because they each had a JL8 service axle disc brakes in the rear and JL8 front discs added by the Chevrolet Engineering group when the cars were being modified for the track.

Re: Pace car wheel sizes

CRAP... You mean they're not supposed to be 15X5 in the front and 15X15 in the rear. Damn, I bought the wrong wheels for mine.... LOL

Disclaimer: Before anyone have heart failure, incase you haven't seen any of my other posts, this is NOT and never was a real Z11. Nor was it an RS, SS or or both.

Next you you're gonna tell me I put the wrong engine and trans in my car.

Re: Pace car wheel sizes

WOW nice build but if you are putting on a real spoiler, your stripes go to far down the lip of the trunk lid but only for a points show would anyone care

Re: Pace car wheel sizes

I'm gonna be running a Pro Stock style of rear spoiler, not the original style. It just didnt look right on the car.
My rear stripes aren't correct anyway. They should be have a larger gap in the center and be out towards the outer ends of the trunk. I just matched them up with the fronts.

I don't think I will be winning any awards for "authenticity " anyway. LOL

Here's a shot of my spoiler before paint.
