Stainless trim ring and center cap are different color

I just replaced my original 68 rally wheel center caps with the smaller 67 caps (repro swap meet) and the color of the stainless is noticibly different. The new caps have a yellow tint compared to the original trim rings and center caps.
Are all repro's like this, or did I get a bad set?

Re: Stainless trim ring and center cap are different color

Well, I can't be the first to run into this, but I have searched the archives and found nothing.
I did however find a car for sale in the classifieds with the same issue. Can you see the difference in color of the ring vs cap?

I think there is a difference between the stuff made in the USA and that made overseas. Check and see if they were made in the USA or not.

Re: Stainless trim ring and center cap are different color

I am sure they are imported. Vendor said they where stainless steel.
I am thinking the difference is in the material being chrome plated steel or stainless steel and the grade of stainless.
I checked the magnetic attraction and found the trim ring strong, the original center cap medium and the new cap weak.
