Question torq thrusts 2 wheels

I am thinking of getting a set of polished wheels for my 67 and was wondering if anyone has an opion on them? should I get the chrome polished set or just the polished ones? which are the easiest to take care of I have a very bad back and cant bend to keep polishing, also is there something I can do to them to make them stay cleaner longer?
thanks
Kenny

I like polished. If you hit a curb with chrome, you can see the rust after awhile. With enough elbow grease you can get polished looking new again. Just my humble opinion.

Re: torq thrusts 2 wheels

I'm going with the chrome Torq Thrusts ... I like the chrome look and the minimal cleaning/buffing versus polished wheels ...

I don't see many people running the chrome versions, possibly because of the higher price ...

I'd love to see some rides with the chrome Torq Thrusts installed ...

Yeah. Maintenance/cleaning would be alot easier with chrome....

Yes, the chrome is more because they are out of the custom shop, opposed to the already built and ready to to polished version. Polished is harder to keep up with, and will require maintenance, but the chrome will eventually chip or peel, and then you have that night mare to deal with.

I personally like the polished. Chrome just doesn't look right to me on 1st gens, or most classics, for that matter.

Re: torq thrusts 2 wheels

I'm running a set of aftermarket AFS chrome ZR-1 style wheels on my '95 Z and have had them for about 4 years and they still look new ...

As long as you keep them clean and don't curb 'em, the chrome finish should last for a long, long time ... BUT ... if you do curb 'em, forget about it!

Re: torq thrusts 2 wheels

I don't know if the 10's will fit well in the rear after tires have been mounted, there might be some rubbing issues ...

The larger wheel/tire combo for the rear that I know of that will work but still rub on accassion during sharp turns or bumps is ... 15x8 wheel (4.5" backspacing) with a 28x11.5x15 tire ...

Re: torq thrusts 2 wheels

Chrome chips and peels, and ends up being a nightmare! At least with the polished you can hit it with the Mother's power ball, or send them in to professionally polished back to a nice luster. Polished is much more repairable.
Let me know if you need help ordering the wheels.
