In a previous thread, https://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=90943, I posted a problem I was having with limited oil flow through the valve train. It ended up being the lifters. I called the manufactured, Lunati, but they just suggested I put in a new set of lifters. While this may be fine, I wouldn't mind looking at other cams.

The car will be used primarily as a weekend cruiser, with an occasional road trip. Personally I don't mind spending a little extra if I can get more out of the motor. The current cam is a Lunati Bracketmaster II and seemed rather mild.

- 350 4 bolt main bored .030" over out of a 74? pickup
- Block was decked .010" and aligned honed
- Cast crank w/ new reconditioned GM rods and forged TRW 10:1 flat top pistons
- Dart Sportmans II heads with stainless steel valves, 72cc chambers and 200cc intake runners
- Competition Cams rollertip rockers arms 1.5
- Edelbrock Performer intake
- Holley 750 w/ vacuum secondaries
- Hooker ceramic coated headers
- DUI HEI w/ vacuum advance

The engine is connected to a built 2004R transmission with a 2800 stall converter, 3.73s rearend gears and 25.9" tall rear tires

Assuming Piston Deck clearance 0.016 = 9.76:1 compression with -5cc reliefs on pistons

Lunati Voodoo Hydraulic (60104) Basic Operating RPM Range: 2,200-6,400 RPM (Not good for a weekend cruiser, drag racing yes)

Your 75mph Cruise Speed is 2,433 rpm in overdrive, 3631 in 3rd gear, best case your current cam is 320 torque at 2500rpm, the CC 12-238-2 will give you best case 400 torque at 2500 rpm. Obviously this is Desktop Dyno and its #s aren't real world but when comparing between cams it shows an 80lbs of torque increase at 2500 and a 68lbs of torque increase at 3600.

Would a VooDoo 268 (60102), CC XE268H (12-242-2) or XE274 (12-246-2). I imagine the XE274H results would be similar to current cam.

Also would going to a smaller carb help low to mid range torque?

Given your intended use, the 2004R trans and your gear you are better off with the XE262H, any higher is more for racing and moves the power band higher in the rpms where your engine wont be operating much. Your heads and intake are perfect for your use, you just have the wrong cam imo.
Call Competition Cams Tech line, they will recommend the best cam for your engine based on your intended use.

Imho, a 292 cam need's at least 11 to 1 CR to run it's best and I have the Melling version of that cam in my about 9.5 to 1 CR 406...

It's a dog with my M-20, 3.31's and 26.5" tall tires until it hits say 25 to 3,000 rpm and then hold on!! (Wished I'd went with the 280/230, 480" cam instead....).....

I figure your heads are a bit big, probably 180's or so would do you along with a 268 or so cam!!

And the old Performer and a 750 is fine for a cruiser as long as it is a vacuum secondary jobber....
