click or anyone that knows amsoil

Does amsoil make a 14" x 3" or 4" air filter? I'm thinking about switching from my K&N setup. Could go paper but, hey, why!

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

I have to dig up my dimension catalog, back at ya later what is the KN number it might cross reference for me. 14 x 3 or 14 x 4 but what about across the filter area? 1.5" ? or 2"? or how thick is the filter media area across the top of the filter?

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

that number doesnt cross reference to anything, are you sure of the number and its a K&N number ? they can help too with the additional measurement across the top of the filter media.

K&N E-3745 is a 14 x 3.5 element if that helps...

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

thanks Dennis but they couldnt cross that one either, maybe not a current K&N or something odd, I need that other measurement of the thickness of the filter, then they said they can find the right match by size.

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

I'll measure tonight. I took the number off the K&N website.

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

My K&N is 14" across, the sealing surface is 7/8" inch across making the inside diameter 12 1/4". The top/base have a 1" wide space for the filter to sit into so there's a little wiggle room. Thanks, Jim.

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

Okey dokey they crossed it to a Model Eaa25 measures 4.056 high by 13.875 O.D. and 11.625 I.D. suggested retail is $38.10 BUT that is a 2.2" thick filter... is that too thick for your space in the notch? I emailed the Tech guru again and asked for him to check one more time on another filter with 1" max width of filter area.

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

I'll recheck to see if there's any room to wiggle. Is there a 4" tall model avail or 3.5"? 2.2" won't clear the carb. Seems there would be a market since they're popular sizes for sbc's Thanks, Jim.

Re: click or anyone that knows amsoil

The 2.2" is the 'thickness' of the filter area, (not height of the filter) the 2.2" is inbetween the O.D. and I.D. measurement.. not height (tallness) of the filter..
yes there is a 3.04" "tall" filter the Eaa52 with same O.D. and I.D . but thats still 2.2" thick in your slot as well.
We need to find an O.D. of 13.875 and I.D. of 12.875 to keep our filter width at 1" right??
