Re: Help...I need the BBC head torque sequence (pattern)

I recently installed a set of Edelbrock and was impressed by their technical sheet for installation information.
They also gave the link to the site with them, here it is - http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_.../6000/6047.pdf

Hope this helps

Would there be any reason why you would torque aluminum heads differently than cast iron??? Thanks for the link.

Thumbs up Re: Help...I need the BBC head torque sequence (pattern)

No, not really - but, the aluminum heads are more prone to deforming if torqued in large increments, so the standard recommendation is to go up in smaller (@10~15 ft lbs per round) torque steps during tightening.
Iron heads on the other hand can usually stand larger increments (@20~25 ft lbs per round) of increase during torqueing so the procedure goes a little quicker.
I usually spend a little time going up in slow steps so I can feel out the bolts/studs and be sure the unit is tightening as I feel it should. If I feel something I don't like, I can stop and investigate it as I go.

Be sure to use a good non-hardening liquid sealant on the bolt threads before inserting to prevent water seaping up through them.

Post back if you need clarification on any of this, someone will chime in and advise you as needed.
