SBC to BBC in a 68

Ok i've been putting together a 454 for my wifes 67 chevelle that we're redoing and i'm starting to think hmmm that would look nice in my 68 camaro instead of the small block. so i mention it to the wife and low and behold she's not opposed to the idea. so what am i gonna need?
I figure different mounts, headers, radiator?(theres a 3 core in it), dump the th350 and go to a th400 so a diff crossmember, driveshaft(shorter??), maybe a diff brake booster? anything else??

Re: SBC to BBC in a 68

I ran a BBC in my '69 for years with the SB frame mounts and a TH350. However, to do it right, you'll need frame mounts, heater core and cover, different exhaust manifolds/headers, different fan shroud. There are numerous other small parts you'll need, but those are the major ones. The stock brake booster should still work unless you've got tall valve covers. I can't say for sure since my car had manual brakes when I was still running on the SB frame mounts. You've got a PM.

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Will probably need to change the front springs as well. I looked into doing this with my car a couple years ago and its quite a project. Others on here have done it...and done it right. So hopefully they will chime in.

Re: SBC to BBC in a 68

I did this on my '68 - 350 to a 468. You're pretty much on the right track, it sounds like. Mounts and crossmember are the biggies. New rad, of course. Heater core and cover are a bit of a pain.

Plenty of small parts as you go along, but all in all, it's fairly easy.
