Sounds like you have the "151" GM cam, yes , its a hipo. Do a search on this site for more information. Its a good cam.

It's the 350hp/327 high performance stock cam IF that is what it is?

A good old cam, imho.. I ran one in my 350SS L-48 engine as a daily driver for years.

Re: what cam did i pull out of the motor?

I asked questions about this cam a while back. The bottom line was that it was a hydraulic cam that was "similiar" to 327/365 cam for the hi-po guys that did not want to mess with adjusting valves.

Yes, a hydraulic version of the old 30-30 solid lifter stock "fuelie" cam..

But NOT near as "knarly" at 222 vs 254 duration at .050" lift...

Re: what cam did i pull out of the motor?

If you have a calipers, you could measure the lobe heights. You might be able to correlate that info to the specs of a 151 cam.

Speaking of "knarly", I just got my transverse muffler exhaust installed. Man what a difference it made in the 30-30 sound after the chambered sound!

Re: what cam did i pull out of the motor?

What's the raised casting number between the lobes? If it isn't 3152, it's not a GM "151" cam.

Re: what cam did i pull out of the motor?

i looked for a raised casting number on the cam. it was dark and the only numbers i seen were stamped at each end but did not see very well. so when i fix the bulb in the garage i will take a closer look
