GM D port heads - what headers

I am hopefully getting close to chosing a motor. I am now leaning towards the fast burn '385' - 350 GM crate.

What company makes ceramic coated full length headers for these heads in my '67?

If anyone knows, the info will be greatly appreciated!

Re: GM D port heads - what headers

I ran Sandersons on my ZZ3 with L98 heads , then went to Hooker 2451's. no issues with sealing. Used Ultraseal 5907 gaskets.

Re: GM D port heads - what headers

I have the same heads on my '67 RS. I am using Hooker Super Comps 1 7/8". I made a template on my heads to make sure there is no blockage. I hope this helps.

Re: GM D port heads - what headers

You can use a Hooker Super Comp 1-3/4 or 1-5/8 but the bolt holes will need to be slotted to allow the header to match the top of the raised port. Both headers will need to have the excess weld on the inside of the tube removed, especially the smaller size.

There's some pics on my website of the 1-3/4" version, but several tubes were re-routed for better clearance.

Re: GM D port heads - what headers

I use the Hooker Super Comp 1-3/4 on my GM Fastburn heads. The clearnce around the PS is excellent, plug access is very good, esp with a short plug socket, the kind with wrench flats on the end. The driver's side header hangs pretty low.
