1970 Lt-1

I have a 1970 1/2 Z-28 that originally had an LT-1 in it but now has a factory CE block. Is the CE still considered or built to LT-1 specs?

Thanks for the help guys!

Question Re: 1970 Lt-1

Only if it is a "CE" LT-1 engine replacement, imho..

Outside of that, I really don't know?? Sorry.....

I do know that back then you could buy crate LT-1 engines tho... L-88's too...

Re: 1970 Lt-1

Block will probably be a 010/020 hi tin content nickel block, very desirable.

Re: 1970 Lt-1

I appreciate the help. I guess this is directed specifically to Don-what numbers would let me know it is a nickel block?

Thanks again.

Re: 1970 Lt-1

He just told you!

look for them to be on the drivers side of the front of the engine behind the timing cover and probably on the back under the bellhousing if i remember right.

PS., Numbers like "010" and "020" sort of deal, usually one on top of the other stacked cast in place...

Re: 1970 Lt-1

This is a 1970 LT1 Z28 block (CTC Stamped) I have that shows the 010 and 020 casting numbers. Hope this helps.
