Question Fill neck on manifold hits hood

I have a csr fill neck on my manifold that is hitting the inner structure of my cowl hood. Do you think if I get a machinest to cut the top off drill and tap whats left and make a screw in plug with an O ring this will work. I will still have the cap on the radiator for pressure. Do you think this will work? Or do you have any other ideas.

Where on the hood is it hitting ? Could you cut a hole in the innerstructure of the hood which would allow the fill neck to protrude up, inside the hood.
