Resetting fuel gauge

I recently bought a 1996 z28... It has an aftermarket fuel pump. I have had the car for 2 days... the car started sputtering and died, yet the gauge said i still had a quarter tank left... filled the tank and the car runs... but can anyone tell me how to reset the gauge?

Re: Resetting fuel gauge

Where is your fuel gauge? Is it in the center of the dash between speedometer and tachometer, on the RH side instead of a tachometer, or one of the four console gauges?

Re: Resetting fuel gauge

Unfortunately I didn't realize that you had a '96 model, which I know very little about. Maybe someone else can jump in with some help.
