270 comp cam /low vacuum

I have a 327 with assorted aftermarket performance parts that I put a comp 270ah-8/ 108 lobe pn#12-321-4, the engine runs excellent has a nice deep choppy sound , the only thing is my vacuum is about 5 at idle, I set the vavles on this right I know I dont have them too tight has anybody used this paticular cam, is this normal for the vacuum

I would say your timing is low. You will want up to 36 total. (14 initial + 22 mechanical advance = 36 total) I have a 270 Ultradyne ultrastreet, and if I remember right, 14-15 in. vacuum.
