Best flowing sbc head

What is the best flowing sbc head for 1,500 and under?
I'm probably going to get afr's 180-195cc cnc machined heads for a 332" motor and the flow numbers are anywhere from 275-302, I thought that was good for the price but does anyone know of any other brand of alumnium head with higher flow numbers???

The only Mustang I'd ever own is a Fender.

AFR 180 for your cubic inches would be hard to beat. I bought Eldelbrock RPM's for my old 327 and now using them on my 388. I wished I would have researched more before I got the RPM. They are decent, but AFR seems so much better.

If your order them from Wolfplace, you can prolly get them quicker. I waited some 3 months to get mine direct from AFR but that was 3 years ago, when they were changing foundries.

Re: Best flowing sbc head

AFR's 195 eliminators are near impossible to beet in flow #'s for that size runner. Although that is a little big for you. Your best bet and still great flowing heads are the AFR 180cc SBC Eliminator street cylinder heads.
And yes AFR has a longer lead time because of build to order inventory. about 6-8 weeks on average Figure out what springs you want on the heads first and you can more than likely find a dealer that has them in-stock and can do the spring swap no charge.

Re: Best flowing sbc head

I'd suggest discussing your motor and true needs with Mike Lewis. He's also great to work with and purchase from.
