Smog pump pulley, 3932458

Why are 1969 Camaro smog pump pulley, PN# 3932458 prices so high?
With 20,000 Z's and numerous other high horse cars out there.
Did they all go in the trash and the supply and demand drives the prices?
I guess I just don't get it. $650.00 for an original? Arghhhhh! The last one I saw on ebay went for $650!!!
I will add this to the no thanks list cause it's just rediculous!
Am I off base here or who else is willing to pay $700-$1000 for
an original one. Yeah I know you'll all say if you want it pony up and pay for it.

As someone who judges 70 Z-28's at Carlisle, I suggust you use the repop. Spend the money for restoring your 295 divertor valve with Bill Hoedel.
Mounted on the pump in the car....the repop 458 pulley is just not very noticeable to 99 1/2% of the people looking at your engine............

So many other places to spend money.............

Re: Smog pump pulley, 3932458

I think that the main reason there is a small supply is what you said the smog systems along with the exhaust manifolds got tossed and no one thought that some day they would be worth anything.

I saw a smog pump with a 458 at the Nationals last year. I picked it up off his table and asked,"how much for the pump?"

He replied, "The pump is $500.00" then a pause.....he followed with, "and the pulley is $800.00".

About two years ago I saw them go in the $450.00 range and thought that was high. There is another one with a buy it now of $995.00 second time around for it on ebay and one that was listed for less than 24 hrs must have been sold outside of ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...209190371&rd=1

The one that sold on ebay for $650.00 was for a good cause, Jerry was selling it along with some other items to help out a family from my understanding. Plus you knew that it was not a fake.

Recent omg sales ebay sales.....

Endura bumper 69 used $2225.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...182993993&rd=1
Wheel well trim 69 nos $771.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...194443770&rd=1
Left fender 69 nos standard $1401.69 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...181732280&rd=1
