Rings

I'm in the planning stages of building a couple of engines. My own, a BBC 468 and a 4 bolt main 350.

I am curious about rings. I see a bunch of different types of rings available and want to know what would be the best. These motors will see probly 7k rpm for the BBC and 6500 for the 350/383.

I don't want to cheap on anything so I ask the members of TC, what is the recommendation with rings and also, I'd like some info on what the purpose of some of these rings are.
I hear about moly, chrome-moly, plasma-moly and on and on.
What is the advantage of these piston rings and why?

Thanks in advance....
