Quick easy question...

Hey guys, I have a 1969 350 with a .030 overbore. I am looking for new head gaskets but the only gaskets that are 4.030 are for the LS1, on Summit's site. Am I looking for the wrong diameter bore? Any help is appreciated.

Jeff

edit: also, any recommendations on a good head gasket?

FPP-1003 if you have cast iron heads and FPP-1010 if you have aluminum heads.

Re: Quick easy question...

Jeff,
You are looking for the wrong bore size. Any gasket for the stock 350 bore size will fit all common oversizes like .030, .060 etc. The stock 350 gaskets will work.

Re: Quick easy question...

The gasket is always a little bigger than the cylinder.

Re: Quick easy question...

Thanks a lot guys, you've been very helpful.

I will post a work log when I start building. When I start, it will be a temporary build just to get it running again. I'm replacing only whats necessary for now and later down the road I will do a complete overhaul. Heres some pics of it as it was a few years ago.

It's a 1972 Camaro with a 69 block.

OK!

Gotta ask??????????

What brand main caps are those??

b/c they sure don't look STEEL colored like the crank, now do they! If that is a steel crank??

Or is it just a poor lit pic.?
