New Holley carb w/electric choke conversion

Anybody buy a new Holley and the electric choke conversion lately? My wife got me one for Christmas, and now that the weather is warming up, I figured it was time to put it on. Here's the problem; the electric choke does not fit on the carb. The carb is a 700DP and I'm using the correct choke assembly, but the choke housing does not clear the secondary linkage in order to get full throttle. I talked to Holley this morning and of course they though I was an idiot because they were sure it fit together, but after I emailed him pictures he changed his tune. I got an email from Holley this afternoon to say they took several new carbs and chokes out of the box and guess what............. they don't fit either. He said I should grind the choke housing to clear, and I may do that as a temporary fix, but this needs to be fixed correctly. I'm waiting for their response to my last email. I will try to get some pictures posted, but it may have to wait until I get home tonight.

Here is a picture of the choke housing hitting the linkage with the throttle held open.

The next picture is with the choke housing shimmed out with some small washers. Now instead of the linkage hitting, the pump cam hits.

I can't help you with THAT problem, but I can tell you that once you get it mounted, you'd better check the pulloff piston adjustment. I've never seen one adjusted correctly by the factory.

You'll need a special tool--a paper clip (that you unwind and add a 90 degree bend to.)

Instructions are on page 4, figure 15 of this .pdf:

If you have internal vacuum DO NOT forget the tiny gasket between choke housing and main body. External-vacuum carbs use a special hose that's smaller-diameter on the choke housing end. Hopefully that hose is packaged in the kit.
